Hacker after paintings by B. Herring, known for his excellence in hunt scenes.  Original decorated green cloth, gilt lettering on spine.  Covers lightly faded & rubbed, else tight, generally Good.    Much info regarding horses, boots,, riding coats, saddles, foxes and their habits, hounds, etc.  An interesting association: this copy is one of the circulating volumes in the Library & Reading Room of the What Cheer House of San Francisco, with bookplate at front pastedown & oval stamps to some pages.  This was a famous hotel and inn owned by Robert B. Woodward, famous for Woodward's Gardens in SF.
