(American Indian)  The History of The United States Before the Revolution: with some account of The Aborigines.  By Ezekiel Sanford.  Phila:  Anthony Finley, 1819.  1st ed.  8vo.  cxcii, 342pp., charts of tribes and languages, extensive notes throughout, index.  Contemporary calf, embellished w/ gilt rule on covers, gilt lettering on leather spine label, marbled bds.  Front cover detached, covers rubbed, edges soiled, long ago one page shows it was taped (!), the usual foxing throughout, pages slightly rippled, sm booksellers label present to front pastedown, else internally Good.  Much on discovery theories, languages, cultural differences, treatment of women, etc.  The author (1796-1822) graduated from Yale, and this work was published when he was just 23 years old.  Ready for the binder and priced accordingly.
