Fantastic Cooks And Their Favorite Books!

Featured this month is Dawn Christopher who cooks with a GE Induction cooktop, which is magnetic. She got it because although she wanted gas it was too costly and complicated for their woodsy neighborhood up in Westchester County, New York. The stove changes temperature very quickly just like gas and boils water super fast. Here she is pictured baking Einkorn sourdough bread. It is a much healthier bread then regular bread so she makes it all the time; especially good for sandwiches! Dawn owns a lot of cookbooks and swears by her beloved copy of “The Gourmet Cookbook: More Than 1000 Recipes”, edited by Ruth Reichl. In addition to being a sommelier, Dawn is the proprietor of the wine store Front Street Cellar in Croton Falls, NY, where she holds regular wine tastings.
