(Restaurant History)  Ye Alpine Tavern, Mt. Lowe, Pasadena, CA.  Pacific Electric Railway, N.d., (ca. 1914).  Souvenir Card.  Black & white photograph, 8" x 5",  featuring 30 or so travelers posing on the tram car, showing a sign on left reads "Echo Mountain, 3,500 feet above sea level".  Mounted on gray card stock, 10" x 7", illustrated verso reads "Souvenir of World Famous Mt. Lowe, America's Greatest Scenic Trip."  Lists information of incline, distance, elevation etc.  Penciled is the date of Sept. 12, 1914.  Corners lightly bumped, else VG.  Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this tavern was a 22-room Swiss Chalet est. in 1896.  It was the end-of-the-line for passengers sightseeing on the Mt. Lowe railway at the foot of Mt. Lowe.  It was renamed the Mount Lowe Tavern in 1925 and burned down in September, 1936.
