Mt. Lowe, Pasadena, CA. Pacific Electric Railway, N.d., (ca. 1914). Souvenir Card. Black & white photograph, 8" x 5", featuring 30 or so travelers posing on the tram car, showing a sign on left reads "Echo Mountain, 3,500 feet above sea level". Mounted on gray card stock, 10" x 7", illustrated verso reads "Souvenir of World Famous Mt. Lowe, America's Greatest Scenic Trip." Lists information of incline, distance, elevation etc. Penciled is the date of Sept. 12, 1914
. Corners lightly bumped, else VG. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this tavern was a 22-room Swiss Chalet est. in 1896. It was the end-of-the-line for passengers sightseeing on the Mt. Lowe railway at the foot of Mt. Lowe. It was renamed the Mount Lowe Tavern in 1925 and burned down in September, 1936.
