Crowell, 1877.  8vo.  xviii, 265pp., recipes, lots of hints, odds & ends for cleaning, index, ads at rear.  Ingredients and measures for recipes are listed before the cooking process.  Dark red cloth, gilt lettering on spine, covers darkened, edges lightly scuffed, some pps. stained, previous owner's name in pen at ffe, else tight, generally Good.  Well-written, e.g. "A generous wholesome diet is less expensive than doctors' bills, and less trouble than the care of the sick."  She was the daughter of Joseph Shillaber, the American humorist who penned & invented the character Mrs. Partington.
